Call for Nominations for ODTUG Board of Directors
It is now time to nominate members to serve a two-year term on the 2010 and 2011 board of directors (January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2011). Members of the ODTUG board of directors enjoy increased contact with Oracle Corporation’s upper management and other experts in the development community, as well as the opportunity to guide the direction of ODTUG.

Please note, your nomination is for an individual to serve on the board in a general capacity, not as an officer. Officers are elected by the board members themselves. You may nominate yourself or a colleague. Please keep in mind that board members must be proactive individuals with time and energy to devote to the group. Personal commitment is the key to the group’s success, so nominees should be prepared to devote a consistent and considerable level of time and effort for the entire term served.

Please read the summary of the responsibilities of board members and nomination guidelines found below. The nomination deadline is Tuesday, September 8, 2009. You can e-mail your nomination to wendy@odtug.com, fax it to (910) 815-4189, or mail it to ODTUG, 3208 Oleander Drive, Suite C, Wilmington, NC 28403.

Upon receipt of your nomination, you should receive an e-mail confirmation. If you do not get this response, please contact the ODTUG office, as that indicates we have not received your nomination.

Campaign Statement
I am asking for your support in continuing to represent you on the ODTUG board of directors. During the past two years, serving as vice president, I have gained valuable experience while helping lead our user group. As the 2008 conference chair, ODTUG Kaleidoscope grew its attendance while continuing its outstanding tradition as the premier conference for developers and architects.

I have fostered many valuable relationships with our members, Oracle employees, product managers, software vendors, and other user groups while serving on the ODTUG board. However, the most valuable of these relationships are the ones that I have formed with many of you, the members of ODTUG. In order to serve on the board, I feel it is important to understand the many needs of our members, so that the board can work on prioritizing and satisfying those needs to the best of our abilities.

2009-2010 are critical years for ODTUG. We must continue to focus on providing the quality benefits that our members expect from ODTUG. We need to be agile while responding to the continuing cycle of Oracle acquisitions, targeting the appropriate developer oriented pieces of these acquisitions to support, while not abandoning our long-term members in the process.

It takes long-term commitment and determination to put in the amount of time required as a volunteer to properly serve on the ODTUG board. I am committed to ODTUG, and hope that your vote will help me continue to serve in this capacity.  Thank you for your consideration!
