Kscope17 EPM Data Integration Session Highlights - Tony Scalese

With ODTUG Kscope17 less than one month away, here is a highlight of the Kscope17 EPM Data Integration sessions that Tony Scalese is most excited to attend and why he thinks you should attend them:

Introduction to the EPM Rest APIs – Jake Turrell, Turrell Consulting

There are two sessions this year in the integration track covering the REST APIs. One is with Jason Jones and is sure to be a deep dive.  I’m sure people will learn a lot from this. Oracle ACE Associate, Jake Turrell’s session however caught my eye because it takes a broader look than just PBCS. I think this is a great starting point for those new to REST.

How to Best Manage Your Relationships…With Data: Building a Strong Foundation for PAREXEL Using Oracle Data Relationship Management Best Practices – Julia Radovani, Peloton Group

This session caught my eye for a couple of reasons. First, DRM always has been an important but optional component in the EPM suite. With the introduction of the Cloud services, master data management is becoming increasingly important and less optional. While this session is not Cloud focused, it will be interesting to hear how a multi-billion dollar company is approaching master data management. Secondly, my wife is a VP of Quality at Parexel, so I have a vested interest in the company.

Black Belt Techniques for FDMEE Admins and Developers – Francisco Amores, Infratects

I’m excited to hear about what Oracle ACE Francisco has been cooking up over there in Spain. I hold Francisco in high regard and really appreciate all of the work he does to drive forward the FDMEE narrative. It will be great for attendees to get a sense of the power of FDMEE especially with some creative thinking.

Best Practices of the Design and Delivery of Master Data from DRM to Downstream Applications for Large Implementations – Kate Helmer, Huron Consulting Group

Anyone that’s been in the space recently has likely heard Kate’s name when DRM is being discussed. While I haven’t seen Kate present yet, I am excited to hear her thoughts and perspective. The audience can expect to learn a number of industry accepted leading practices for master data management and how to optimize a DRM deployment.

Ask the Experts – An Informal Panel for FDMEE Integrations – Anthony Scalese, Edgewater Ranzal

Is it bad to highlight one of your own sessions?  Continuing a tradition that started three years ago, I am partnering with Francisco Amores to deliver a joint session on FDMEE. This year’s format will be a bit different from other years where instead of a presentation, we are holding a panel where the audience is invited to ask FDMEE specific questions to two of the industry’s FDMEE experts. The team is working on having a special guest moderator. If you have FDMEE questions, this is the session to attend.
