ODTUG APEX Game Competition - Winners

At Kscope 15 this year we launched the first ever ODTUG APEX game competition. We weren’t sure of the participation for the competition given that in years past similar development competitions didn’t get a lot of uptake. This year the APEX community responded and we had 15 great entries!

Now that the competition is over everyone can try out all the submissions/games right now.

Before announcing the winners I would like to take the time to thank our judges: Dan McGhan, Joel Kallman, and Vincent Morneau. Special thanks to Adrian Png and Vincent Morneau for organizing the entire competition. Without their efforts none of this would have happened.

Now on to the winners. I am glad I was not a judge as there were so many good entries it would have been hard to pick a winner. The judges had to make some difficult decisions and I am pleased to announce the winners:

1st Place: Apex's Hold'em Truco by Anderson Rodrigues

2nd Place: Battleship by Maxime Tremblay

3rd Place: Rescue42 by Matt Mulvaney

Anderson now has a tough choice to make by selecting the grand prize options of a Microsoft Surface 3 or an iPad Mini 3. Maxime will receive a GoPro camera. All three finalists will receive  a Google Chromecast and a full year ODTUG membership. Thanks to Insum for helping to sponsor the competition and make some of these prizes possible.

Thank you to everyone that participated in the competition. I know you all put a lot of time and effort into your games. Be sure to check out all the games and I can’t wait to see everyone’s entries in next year’s (still to be announced) competition.
