Special Note: Your ODTUG membership must be paid and up to date no later than September 30, 2016, to be eligible to vote or run for office.
Responsibilities
- Develop and initiate policies and programs regarding the general direction of ODTUG membership, conferences, publications, and communications with Oracle Corporation.
- Attend the annual ODTUG conference.
- Participate in a monthly Board of Directors teleconference of approximately 60 to 120 minutes.
- Prepare monthly progress report(s).
- Attend two face-to-face board meetings each year. For 2017, the dates are January 26-28 and June 23. The 2018 dates are to be determined.
- Maintain an email address for board communications.
- Chair and/or serve on at least one active committee.
ODTUG pays for all travel and per diem costs associated with official Board of Directors meetings. Board members are expected to maintain and pay for their ODTUG membership.

Nomination Guidelines and Deadlines
All nominees must be paid ODTUG members in good standing. You must read and agree to the terms of the ODTUG bylaws. Please submit the nomination with a campaign statement, brief biography, picture of the nominee in JPG format, and agreement to the bylaws.
- The campaign statement (no more than 250 words) should include why you are interested in becoming a board member, your experience with ODTUG or similar groups, what specific talent/experience you possess that could enhance the leadership of ODTUG, and your goals if elected to the board. Feel free to add hyperlinks because nominations will be posted electronically. Hyperlinks will be counted in the word count.
- The biography (no more than 150 words) should include your professional biographical information, experience with Oracle tools, current and past employers, publication information, education, and other background information you feel would paint a clear picture of your knowledge of Oracle tools and leadership abilities. Do not include personal information regarding family or hobbies.
- Please include a written agreement to the bylaws if mailing or faxing your submission. Electronic submissions must agree before submission is accepted.
- If you have previously served on the Board of Directors and resigned from the board, your nomination must be approved by the current ODTUG Board of Directors. You will be notified of your status by October 1, 2016.
- You agree that in view of your service as a director of ODTUG, you will disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest or any situation that might give the appearance of a conflict of interest.

Campaign Statement:
I am asking for your support to continue serving the Oracle community as a director of ODTUG.
I became involved with ODTUG in February 2008 as co-chair of the ODTUG Kaleidoscope 2008 Essbase Development Track and joined ODTUG Board of Directors shortly thereafter. I was honored to be re-elected to the Board in 2010 and 2012. My background as a CPA has been an important part of my contribution, as I have served as the Treasurer of ODTUG for the past several years.
I also bring to ODTUG a tremendous amount of experience helping users in the EPM Community. During my 19 years working with Essbase and EPM technologies, I have made a number of contributions to the community, such as maintaining and supporting the free OlapUnderground tools that have been downloaded over 70,000 times. In addition, I was the first Oracle ACE Director from the EPM Community and helped create the team of Oracle ACEs that actively serves our community.
I strongly believe that the tradition of giving back to the community is the responsibility of every member, and I will continue to promote this tradition within ODTUG. In addition to numerous presentations at Kscope conferences, I have participated, alongside my family, in Kscope Community Service Day for each of the past seven years. Through this style of leadership by example, I believe my efforts will help build a community of highly talented peers working together to help both their companies and their careers.
Biography:
Tim Tow is the Founder and President of Applied OLAP and is considered one of the world's most experienced professionals with Essbase APIs. He started his career in 1982 as a Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte and later worked for Leaseway Transportation and Intergraph Corporation. In 1995, Tim became involved with Arbor Essbase (subsequently known as Hyperion Essbase and now Oracle Essbase). Other accomplishments include:
