Don't Miss Kscope17

Kscope17 will take place June 25-29 at the beautiful JW Marriott San Antonio Hill County in Texas. The abstract submission deadline has passed, and the ODTUG content selection committees have started the difficult process of selecting the best of these great submissions from the community. Judging by the content I’ve seen thus far, all we can say is that you won’t want to miss this conference! Register before March 25 to secure your spot and take advantage of the Early Bird Rate discount.

Good News on PBCS Atribute Dimensions
By Chris Rothermel, Rothermel Consulting

Summary
Our last article on this topic was a Q&A interview with Oracle on the announced new functionality for attribute dimensions in PBCS. This follow-up article shows how to use the functionality. Pay close attention to the use of attributes in web forms to avoid the frustration I experienced in learning how this worked -- until I uncovered the trick I’m about to reveal. Read more.

Product Manager's Corner
By Don Bean, Oracle Corporation

Attending Oracle OpenWorld is always an eye-opening experience, even for Oracle staffers. All of the innovations from the broad array of Oracle development teams are gathered in one location. It’s a shopping bonanza, not only for Oracle customers but also for Oracle developers looking for new ideas and fresh takes on existing ones. As an Oracle Product Manager, I always use any free time at OpenWorld to do as much window shopping as I can. Read more.

My First ODTUG Meetup Experience in Miami: August 18, 2016
By Dhaval B. Shah, Leidos

The Doubt
We drove 3.5 hours from Orlando to Miami for the South Florida EPM Meetup so we could learn from others who are using EPM technology. I have to admit that I questioned whether this Meetup would be worth the long drive. I am happy to share with you that our time on the road was time well-invested. Read more.

Wichita Meetup

This first meeting was hosted by Mike LaBarge at Textron Aviation’s Cessna Aircraft facility in Wichita. Besides enjoying snacks, beverages, and a fun “airplane building” game, the new group learned details of each other’s EPM/BI experience levels and the tools used at their respective companies. The meeting was also used to outline the group’s goals and future direction.

Mike will continue as the group's Meeting Organizer/Lead, and Erich Ranz of Finit Solutions will serve as the Special Event Coordinator. Others also volunteered to rotate as future meeting hosts and content providers. The Wichita group’s goal is to have quarterly meetings.

Overall, the new Wichita User Group is happy to finally get started, and we are eager to promote the world of EPM/BI and grow the group around the Wichita area!
