Topic: Webinars

Subtopic: Development

Edition-Based Redefinition (EBR) is often described as the “killer feature” of Oracle 11gR2, and it has been enhanced in Oracle 12c. EBR was developed to drastically reduce downtime required when updating Oracle E-Business Suite. Using EBR, your organization can provide an “Online Application Upgrade,” eliminating or drastically reducing outages due to PL/SQL software upgrades and even changes to table definitions. This session will explore the concepts of EBR and planning for EBR implementation. Specific topics include editions, editionable objects, editioning views, cross-edition triggers, and changes in 12c. A brief demonstration will highlight the basics of EBR.
