Campaign Statement
In 2000, I entered the world of Oracle without an ounce of understanding, vision, or even interest in the products I was working in. I surmised that I would simply learn what I could and then move on to “bigger and better” things. Then I got hooked.

Through my work with the Hyperion products and the relationships I built with different colleagues and clients, I discovered a passion that has sustained me over the past thirteen years. It was not just the technology or the job but it was in knowing that I was a part of an evangelism that opened new doors and helped change companies throughout the world.

Having the opportunity to be a part of the Hyperion SIG Board is the next step in that endeavor.  My desire is to be an integral part of this organization and I hope your vote will allow me to serve on the board to help ensure the further development of this community.

Thank you for your consideration

I am a big fan of ODTUG and the Hyperion SIG, having attended the last few Kscope conferences and in getting to know many of the current and past board members. What a wonderful group of people! I've been working to establish a Government and Education Hyperion group within the Hyperion SIG to add a more specific component for these industries and also to help attract more members.  As a Hyperion SIG board member, I will make use of my network in these industries and others to help the group increase membership.

In addition, I would like to assist the group to increase communication and add events and webinars to an already successful program of activities. I would love to bring some of my ideas to the Hyperion SIG and roll up my sleeves to get some work done. My commitment to serve is evidenced by my past successes with OHUG and others. I enjoy volunteering and collaborating with others to bring the best possible user group experience to members. I sincerely appreciate the consideration of your vote and promise I won’t let you down!

Biographical Statement

I serve as a Principal with Mo'mix Solutions; specializing in Hyperion and integrated Business Intelligence solutions. My role with Mo'mix is multi-faceted, including business strategy, working with new clients, and helping existing clients make the most out of their Oracle software. I was also on the board of OHUG (Oracle HCM Users Group) for over six years, most of them as the Conference Chair. During that time, I contributed to activities that increased membership, added new offerings to members, and most importantly, the successful execution of over five conferences; increasing attendance each year. I was also privileged to participate in many user group events with Oracle, such as IOUC and President's meetings, and had the opportunity to get to know the leadership of the other user groups. This is how I came to know about ODTUG and its positive culture and tremendous educational offerings. Prior to Mo’mix Solutions, I worked with several consulting firms, specializing in Oracle applications and technology, and before that worked as a programmer and systems manager at a large hospitality company using Oracle technology and applications.

Amy-Del-Rosario100.jpg Campaign Statement

ODTUG may have started off as an “organization whose sole purpose is to keep you on the cutting-edge of the constantly changing technology landscape”, but it has become so much more. ODTUG is a complex society uniting members and member groups that are not only committed to the dissemination of cutting-edge technological information, but also fostering special-interest communities where business partnerships are formed, friendships are forged, information flows freely, and member feedback can affect the course of the future.

My community is the Hyperion SIG. To me, it’s like a world-wide fraternity. There are Hyperion SIG members around the globe that I proudly refer to as friends (not just acquaintances), and I would not hesitate to contact any one of them if I had a Hyperion related question, was looking for a project, had a project that I wanted to run past them, or if I just happened to be in their city and wanted to grab a cup of coffee (or a cocktail).

Just as the Hyperion SIG has evolved significantly over the past few years, I, too, am continuing to evolve. The Hyperion community has been good to me (even before the SIG was formed), and I would like to be part of its future. As I grow as a member in this community, it is important to me that the same opportunities that I was afforded are available to others.

Biographical Statement

A native Seattle-ite and fanatical dog lover, Amy Del Rosario became a disciple of Essbase from the moment she learned of its awe-inspiring power and has been working with Oracle Hyperion products for over 10 years. Prior to her indoctrination into the world of Hyperion, Amy was attempting to climb the corporate ladder at one of the largest accounting firms in the world; the firm no longer exists.

As a result of ODTUG embracing Essbase, Amy attended Kscope08 and was so overwhelmed and energized by the experience that she has participated in four of the last six Kscope conferences. Amy has devoted the past three years to developing her practice as an independent Oracle Hyperion Planning/Essbase consulting specialist, investing in, and benefitting from her relationships rooted in the Oracle community. Her hard work is paying off, and she is finally at a point in her career where she has the flexibility to dedicate the time and energy necessary to serve the Hyperion community that has become her own.

I have been involved in the Hyperion user community for over 16 years and would like to help in promoting Hyperion products, information, best practices, and lessons learned to members of this community. The Hyperion SIG provides an amazing opportunity for knowledge sharing, networking, and the exchange of ideas and its growth must continue. I have benefited from so many and by being a board member I will have yet another avenue to give back to the user and developer communities.

I am willing to dedicate the time and energy necessary to be a board member and to use my associations with users, developers, Oracle employees, product managers, clients, and other partners to further the growth and reach of the Hyperion SIG. My international experience with many industries and clients will allow me to provide the Hyperion SIG with not only the point of view of a specialized Hyperion consultant but also insight to the skills, education and tools needed by individuals and organizations worldwide building and maintaining applications and systems.

Thank you for your consideration. With your vote I hope to serve you as a board member over the next two years.

I am excited to be considered for the Hyperion SIG board. While I have been active in the local Hyperion community giving presentations for over five years now; I previously felt I was too busy to participate at this level. I now know that the more you give, the more you get back and I am inspired to volunteer.

I firmly believe that the more exposure to the Hyperion products we give to our users the more their appetite grows. I am eager each and every time to see how the next great mind has implemented their solution to problems we all share. Finding the best way to share and grow from this vast store of knowledge is a great opportunity and I am happy to volunteer to serve.

I have benefited greatly from the Hyperion SIG and ODTUG camaraderie, webinars, and presentations and feel it is time to give back. I look forward to being part of the educational process that has helped me understand best practices, new ideas, and great ways to serve my internal reporting customers. Thank you!

Ever since attending my first KScope in Long Beach years ago, I have strived to become more involved with the community.  I have been involved with KScope, a Hyperion blog, and Hyperion User Groups including publishing utilities & source code that I openly share with the Hyperion community. I never miss an opportunity to be an evangelist for the technology and have spoken at events for many years. I eat, sleep, and breathe Hyperion. I code for fun and I bleed Oracle Red. In short, I bring a true passion for the technology to the table and a love to share my knowledge with others.

In my nine years working with the Hyperion suite, I have filled several roles as both a customer and a consultant. In all of my past experiences, my favorite part of the job is collaborating with other developers of all skill levels – helping people new to the technology grow until they’re teaching me some tricks and learning from people better than me until I’m teaching them a trick or two as well.

If you elect me, I will bring this spirit of knowledge sharing and collaboration to the board. Please allow me an opportunity to continue giving back to a community that has given me so much, both personally and professionally.

Campaign Statement

I have deep roots in the Oracle Hyperion community and have worked with hundreds of customers for over 20 years. In my time as OAUG Hyperion SIG President I reinstituted a free webinar education series and doubled our participating membership. As a Hyperion SIG Board member I hope to continue my efforts to expand and enrich our strong EPM/BI community.

My time this year has involved making the great Training Days Conference better. I've introduced crowd sourcing campaigns to increase attendee involvement and reached out to new speakers and new opportunities for member education. My valuable networking has fostered an outreach to other technologies realizing that RMOUG is not just about Oracle.

I've always taken my responsibilities seriously and have fun doing it. I enjoy challenges and am quick to finding solutions to problems, offer ideas, and help out. I enjoyed volunteering at the Kscope12 Conference immensely. Everyone I met on the board or already knew inspired me to want to be a bigger part of ODTUG. As my career matures in the next years with Enkitec, I know that I have more to offer than to just one user group, and due to the close relationship that both RMOUG and ODTUG share, I hope ODTUG's board is the one I can offer that time to.

I would welcome the opportunity to be part of the Hyperion SIG Board. Over my 14 years of Hyperion experience, I have seen how Hyperion applications have improved the lives of accounting and finance associates, provided valuable reporting to executives, and aided in process improvements, and data cleanup. Recently, I had a vice president indicate that one of our position based Hyperion Planning applications was “one of the coolest things implemented at the Bank in a long time.”  If elected, it

would be a great opportunity to work with other experienced Hyperion professionals, provide product feedback, and collaborate on new ideas.

If elected, I would be honored to serve on the ODTUG board of directors and will respect the values of ODTUG with responsible leadership, effective governance, and integrity & transparency. I commit to upholding strength of advocacy and responsiveness through effective communication. Ultimately I will listen to you, our members and partners, and make a positive contribution to ODTUG’s values & vision—all while keeping it fun and exciting.

I am no dinosaur (okay, I broke bread with Essbaseosaurus Rex aka Comshare's System W circa 1985) on a… wait for it… a mainframe (yes mainframe). Mentally I am in the here and now; in fact I'm in next week right now! Experience as a deterrent to Hyperion SIG board membership? Anything but -- my many years in the EPM space means I can bring my hard-won knowledge, judgment, and a demonstrated willingness to work to bear in making the EPM community within ODTUG a better place.

I love EPM tools, be they Essbase, Planning, ODI, Reporting, or OBIEE.  I love them because they stretch my mind, test my creativity, and spur me to think. I love ODTUG too, and I'll bring the same passion to the Hyperion SIG as I do to my job. Hey, I've stayed employed this long at the top of my game -- I must be doing something right. I can do that something right within ODTUG as well. Your vote for me will give me that chance to serve the EPM community throughout the world.

Biographical Statement

Rich Magee started his love affair with Essbase long before Hyperion got involved in the mix. Back in the late 80's, he knew it was the product for him as he became one of the first experts on Essbase on OS/2 and an AS/400 (yes, he's that old). His love only expanded when Arbor and Hyperion merged and he knew he had arrived when interRel Consulting honored him with the title of "Senior Hyperion Consultant." At this point, he only wants to give back to the community and you electing him to the ODTUG Hyperion SIG will allow him to carry Hyperion to more people world-wide. From Kscope to the rest of the universe, Rich will never tire as he creatively champions Essbase, Hyperion, and the rest of the Oracle BI/EPM suite to the masses. A vote for Rich is a vote for a true lover.  (Of Hyperion, to be clear).

I first attended Kscope and became a member of ODTUG in 2011. Since that time I’ve attended three conferences where my view of Hyperion products has been greatly enhanced. Previous to working with Hyperion, I worked with other EPM systems as well as performed statistical and data analysis in a variety of other systems. As a Manager in a Finance organization, I experience firsthand the needs and wishes of the business organization while also understanding the technical aspects of EPM systems. While attending conferences and working in Hyperion systems, I’ve realized what a passionate group of people make up the BI/EPM arm of ODTUG.

I continue to grow into my role developing and utilizing these systems and I want to give back to the community. I would like to share the experiences that I’ve had and also share the creative solutions that we’ve used in some instances where a standard approach did not meet our needs. By becoming a member of the Hyperion SIG Board, I can provide that input to a broader audience as well as listen to what others are experiencing. I am extremely excited about spending the time that it will take to keep the BI/EPM component of ODTUG growing. Through the communications channels as well as crafting the direction of Kscope, the SIG Board can continue this great trend of growing and encouraging the user community.

Thank you for your consideration.

Craig is currently a Manager at Humana where he administers a Hyperion Planning application as well as oversees budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. He has worked with various financial and EPM systems for 11 years with a brief stint doing clinical data analysis. He brings an extensive background in financial modeling combined with a passion for system design that pairs well with the Hyperion products. Residing on the “Business / Finance” side of Hyperion & Essbase, he provides a complement to the technical design and usage of applications and data. Prior to being at Humana, he developed budgeting and staffing models at UPS, utilizing the Khalix (now Longview Solutions) framework.
