Mike's Wednesday at #OOW

Well, one thing that you can count on in San Francisco is great diversity and great food. For breakfast this morning, I wanted to head over to one of my favorite places, Lori's Diner in Union Square. Unfortunately, this location of Lori's closed on September 30th. This was the second straight day of breakfast disappointment, at least as far as original plans. Yesterday, fellow Board Member John King and I decided to try Dottie's True Blue Cafe, on Sixth Street. After the walk there, we found out that Dottie's was closed on Tuesday's and Wednesday's, so we went with the old faithful Mel's Diner. Mel's is right around the corner from Moscone, so it is easy to get to. The food is always great.

But let’s get back to Wednesday morning… Instead of running around and trying to find another of Lori's locations, I decided to try Tad's Steak House. Steak and eggs for breakfast, yum! It was good food at a decent price with really fast service. It was a nice quiet place to grab a bite to eat so I'll add it to my list for the next time I’m in SFO.

Today I had three meetings concerning various topic areas for both ODTUG in general the Kscope 13 conference specifically. I look forward to being able to share more of this information with you as the conference approaches. Stay tuned.

Now on to Party Time!

I've been looking forward to seeing Kings of Leon and Pearl Jam for a long time now. Kings of Leon have been one of my favorite bands for several years. In fact, I missed seeing them in St. Louis a couple of years back. I’m kind of glad I did miss them, as they had an unfortunate accident with some pigeons that roosted in the roof of the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

I must admit, I'm a little late to the Pearl Jam bandwagon. I don't quite know why either. However, they are also one of my recent favorites, and are a frequent “go to” on my iPod playlist.

Both bands rocked the place!! Eddie Vedder came out for a song with Kings of Leon, which was way cool, and Pearl Jam had the Island rocking late into the evening.

Well, I'm finishing this up as I'm packing for the airport Thursday morning. No time for sessions, so I've slept in. I'm also hoping I can catch a nap on the flight home. I'll get some videos and pictures up in the next few days (or not, I get home only to take a 4 hour car trip to a 25th wedding reception over the weekend).

Talk to you soon!
