Kevin McGinley Talks About #Kscope's BI Content Expansion

kevin McGinley.jpgWow! Time flies. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was leaving the 106-degree temperatures in San Antonio, delighted by the success of Kscope12. But as I sit here shivering in the sub-zero Minnesota cold, I can't help noticing that it's 2013 already and that Kscope13 in New Orleans is quickly approaching. I'm daydreaming of spending a week in the Big Easy, soaking up all kinds of great Oracle product knowledge (and maybe a few cocktails, too!).

Reflecting back on 2012, I believe the BI track was a huge success. I'll have to check my pocket guide of Guinness Book of World Records, but I'm pretty sure we set a world record for the largest number of BI sessions and attendees at any Kscope ever! And the content was well received, too. Ratings were high for nearly every presenter and from the feedback attendees gave, we offered a good variety of content.

When we started planning for 2013, we decided as a BI track committee that we wanted to continue to offer the same great BI content, but expand a little to reflect how our industry is evolving. Topics like big data, advanced analytics, and unstructured analytics are emerging on the scene in force. While for many of you, these topics may still be a curiosity, we wanted to capture that interest and make sure you had opportunities to experience these topics first hand in very practical ways, not just in marketing overview sessions. Of course, we will still have great content on OBIEE, the BI Applications, OBIEE & EPM integration, BI Publisher, Exalytics, ODI, and more! There will be hands-on labs, an all-day Sunday Symposium with Oracle, social events, and more!

So if you missed taking a trip to New Orleans for the Super Bowl this year, head to Kscope13 instead! I promise that your learning experience will not be overshadowed by two head-coach brothers competing against each other. :)
