ODTUG Kscope18 Community Service Day is being renamed Kathleen McCasland Community Service Day. The name change honors Community Service Day's founder and reflects on ODTUG's past 10 years of community service across the nation. This year is so very important as ODTUG members will be helping at UP Orlando in their Member Grocery Center. Please consider signing up and coming one day early to help. You can also help by donating to this great cause! We look forward to seeing you there!

The Oracle Analytics Cloud -
Update Corner and Features Guide

The Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) continues to evolve with new feature releases being added to the services offering. ERPA's Peter N. Koutroubis, senior VP of operations, and Jai Gangwani, BI solution architect, cover all of the new OAC features in depth in this post and have a corresponding features guide for a condensed view of each one.

Analytic Property Graph
Follow along and try this technical deep dive in this blog post by Arthur Dayton, senior consultant with Vlamis Software Solutions, Inc., showing you how to create an analytic property graph on an Oracle DB. Oracle Database 12c now includes property graphs, a great feature to analyze relationships in your data, such as finding the most influential people in a social network, or discovering patterns of fraud in financial transactions. Graph analysis can do things that the relational model can't do—or can't do without very complicated queries and expensive table joins.

BI VOLUNTEER INITIATIVE

Want to be a part of the action? Have an idea for the newsletter? Want to put on a webinar? The BI Community is looking for volunteers. Reach out to BI community leader Becky Wagner on Twitter @Bec_Wagner or email
bwagner@us-analytics.com, or contact BI community board liaison Jake Turrell on Twitter @HyperionNerd or email jake@odtug.com. Sign up to volunteer here.

Have you thought about starting a Meetup in your community but don’t know where to begin? ODTUG is here to help! If you would like to start a Meetup group in your city, ODTUG will provide support and reimburse you for the cost of an annual Meetup organizer fee. This is your opportunity to network with your fellow ODTUGers year-round and introduce other Oracle techies who live near you to ODTUG. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to have ODTUG help you create a strong local network of peers.
