FEATURED ARTICLE - Triggering On
Demand Source Data Loads from Within PBCS

By Ahmed Hafez, national technology manager/senior Hyperion consultant, M-Power Solutions

Hello all, and welcome to another episode of “this before was a problem.” Firstly, before starting, let's state the obvious: I really like PBCS and, in my opinion, the benefits of PBCS far outweigh that of On-Premise Hyperion. I am sure some would disagree, but hence why this is my opinion and you are also welcome to yours (maybe this will be a topic for a future blog post). This leaves me with interesting tasks which are finding areas where PBCS might have limitations that are not issues in on-premise Hyperion and I simply try to find solutions/workarounds to address these limitations.

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT CORNER - EPM Cloud Roadmap and Resources
By Al Marciante, senior director of product management, Oracle Corporation

We are only half way into February (as of this writing), and we are already off to a fast start to what promises to be yet another exciting year for Oracle and our customers. In January, we released the Enterprise Data Management Cloud, providing customers a single platform to flexibly manage enterprise data while maintaining data integrity and enterprise application alignment. With this very important addition to the EPM Cloud, we have not only come full circle in our complete EPM Cloud offering, but also in the most integrated, agile and complete EPM offering in the market. February is also a significant milestone for us on the EPM team, as it marks our anniversary from our first journey to the cloud. Just four years ago, in 2014, we released Planning and Budgeting Cloud. Over the course of the ensuing four years, we have expanded our EPM cloud with Enterprise Performance Reporting, Account Reconciliations, Enterprise Planning and Budgeting, Financial Consolidations and Close, Tax Reporting, Profitability and Cost Management, and now the Enterprise Data Management capabilities has joined the family. And make no mistake, these are not the EPM offerings of yesterday. Delivering on a single EPM Cloud platform, these applications are architected for today’s needs, offering significant best practices, out of the box content, and ease of use while operated in one of the most secure cloud infrastructures in the industry.

EPM MEETUP FEATURE
New York City EPM Meetup by Neviana Zhgaba, finance master data project manager, GE

The NY, NJ, CT Area EPM enthusiasts held their latest Meetup on Nov. 15th, 2017, at the Executive Conference Center in New York, NY. ODTUG Treasurer, Gary Crisci, opened the event by giving an introduction of ODTUG and ODTUG Kscope18. We were later joined by ODTUG’s President, Natalie Delemar.EPMNYCMeetup.jpg
The topics in the agenda were informative and the 45 participants were very engaged during all the sessions. We were grateful for the experts that took the time to prepare the presentations and traveled from different parts of the US to be part of this event.

Check out the list of topics and speakers below:
• Workforce Planning Implementation, Paul Husak, GE
• PCMCS & ITFM Overview, Mike Killeen, Edgewater Ranzal
• EPBCS Implementation, Mike Stevenson, Checkpoint
• FCCS Implementation, Coen de Steur, Peloton

In the city that never sleeps ODTUGers always come for the content and stay for the fun! It wouldn’t have been gracious of us to stray from ODTUG’s philosophy “Work Hard. Play Hard!” The four-hour event was followed by two happy hours at a NYC bar, networking and enjoying a great choice of appetizers.

The next NYC EPM Meetup is being held on May 2, 2018. Register and Spread the Word!
