The ODTUG Board of Directors requires:

  • Two face-to-face meetings per year (one typically in January, and the other right before ODTUG Kscope)
  • Attendance at monthly phone calls of 90-120 minutes
  • Membership (or a chairperson position) on at least one active committee on the board
  • A two-year term of service
  • Dedication to serving the members’ best interests
  • A commitment to an amazing journey

In my many years on the board I have served alongside an incredible amount of talent. I have learned from each and every one of my fellow board members along the way. I count those that I have served with among my best friends in the world. During my time on the board, I have advocated and fought for the members; I have spent countless hours doing this. I have been to some amazing locations on ODTUG business, and I have invested considerable personal time working for the members.

Would I change anything? Doubtful. It has been amazing and a privilege to serve you, the members. Was it stressful? At times. Was it rewarding? ABSOLUTELY, SOME OF THE BEST TIMES OF MY LIFE. Do I recommend it for everyone? Absolutely not. Serving on the board is not for everyone, but anyone who meets the requirements and desires to put their name forward should certainly consider it.

I look forward to seeing the candidates who put their names forth. In case you didn’t already know, I won’t be putting my name in this year. If you have questions or want to talk about what it takes or my experiences, email me at mike@odtug.com

Sincerely,

Mike Riley, ODTUG Secretary
