ODTUG Renames the BI Community, Now the Analytics Community

In the spirit of ODTUG’s mission to keep our members on the cutting edge of the constantly changing Oracle technology landscape, we are announcing the transformation of the BI Community, which will now be the Analytics Community. The change is not in name alone—it’s an effort to create a more dynamic and inclusive community to better serve the needs of ODTUG members. ODTUG Board Liaison, Teal Sexton explains:

“When we started, it was about Oracle’s Business Intelligence tools—a driving force in creating the BI market—to provide platforms for analyzing data across HR, CRM, ERP, FP&A, procurement, product management, and more. Companies invested in BI as a way to better understand their business and formulate strategy around their data. As the market matured and more products were introduced, analytics became the more commonly used term. It’s about gaining insights from data and conveying these insights in the best format possible. Oracle moved from BI-branded tools like BI apps and OBIEE to the Oracle Analytics Cloud. As a community, we interact with Oracle Product Management to continue to make it even better, so it's time we embrace the change. We want to stay on the cutting edge of the technologies we are passionate about and make our community as inclusive and forward-thinking as possible.

What does this change mean for the community? It means we encompass more than just BI. It means if you are interested in any of the tools that are used to analyze data and turn it into information, we are here for you! Have a question? Want to share knowledge you gained from a project?
