Greetings from the ODTUG staff and Board! We hope that you and your families are in good health and managing to navigate this very challenging year.
We know that our emails reach a wide audience of both associate and full ODTUG members, and we’d like to briefly talk about the benefits of full membership, especially in these difficult times. Full ODTUG membership confers the right to influence the direction of the organization via board elections, gives full and instant access to ODTUG’s huge library of technical resources for our APEX, Database, EPM, and Analytics communities (including recordings of webinars and presentations), and provides a substantial discount on conference registration. We also know that a high proportion of our members take advantage of that last benefit to save on ODTUG Kscope registration fees, often renewing for another year at the same time as they register. Of course, this opportunity did not present itself in 2020 with the cancellation of our conference. However, membership fees provide a steady, recurring source of income which help to fund our operations. As a not-for-profit, all of our income ultimately goes back to serving the community—paying our professional staff, supporting meetups and other community events, hosting online training, our leadership and WIT programs, and more. Paid membership demonstrates your support for and strengthens your ODTUG community.
We know this year especially there are uncertainties and demands on discretionary spending, but on behalf of the board, we’d like to ask you to consider showing your support for the community by joining as a full member or renewing your individual or corporate membership.
Additionally, as you may know from our email blasts and social media, the ODTUG Board of Directors election for directors to be seated in 2021 will begin shortly. Participation in this election is open to anyone who is a full member of ODTUG as of September 30, 2020.
Whether you want to have a voice in our direction for the first time, or if your longstanding membership has lapsed (perhaps around the time that you would ordinarily have been registering for ODTUG Kscope!), this would be a great time to join or renew your membership.
