As Essbase becomes more and more popular for data outside of the financial world, the data sets get larger and larger. Essbase provides a great user interface for analysis and can support vast amounts of data and meta-data with the right design and configuration. This session will walk through the various ways to speed up both dimensional builds, data loads, and aggregations in ASO. This will cover topics like getting the most out of big servers, parallel data loads, incremental data loads, meta-data updates, outline expansion (and compacting), and aggregations. We will investigate the impact of a variety of settings on both back-end builds and front-end user queries and how to find the balance between the two.
