Featured Sessions

The ODTUG Kscope25 Conference features thought leaders and industry innovators from around the world.
Below are some details about our new Community Keynote sessions, plus the annual APEX Boot Camp. Read on for more information.

Analytics & Innovation Keynote

It’s hard to think clearly when bells are ringing, bright lights are flashing, and the ground is shaking under your feet. Such is the impact that AI is having on the field of analytics even as it’s growing in visibility, importance, and capability.

In this keynote, we’ll use the power of being present together to pause and consider our situation from several different perspectives to reflect on AI in general, the Oracle Analytics road map specifically, and the broader implications for our organizations, careers, and industry. We’ll employ a bit of philosophy, bring in some cognitive science, be sure to remember our history, apply some mathematics, and mix it all together with input from attendees.

AI may not be magic, but it can be magical, beautiful, and transformative.

APEX Community Keynote

Oracle APEX has always been about empowering developers to build more by doing less — less code, less complexity, less friction. But what began as a pragmatic way to build business apps has quietly evolved into something far more powerful. In this keynote, we’ll take a retrospective look at the journey of APEX — how its declarative foundation, metadata-driven architecture, and low-code principles have uniquely positioned it for the age of AI.

I’ll share my own story with APEX — from early explorations to leading platform innovations — and reflect on how the vibrant APEX community has shaped, challenged, and championed the platform at every step. We'll explore how low-code and AI are not just compatible, but converging in a way that’s redefining what it means to build applications today.

Whether you’ve been part of this journey from the beginning or are just getting started, join us for a celebration of how far we’ve come, the role we’ve all played, and the future we’re building — together.

Database & Cloud Engineering Keynote

Every day, the media claims that AI is here to replace developers and DBAs. But for those in the industry, AI has proven to be more of a productivity partner than a threat. In software and database development or management, AI-powered tools are enhancing human expertise, not replacing it.

AI’s real strength is in handling repetitive tasks, surfacing insights faster, and improving decision-making. This allows database professionals to focus on strategic and creative work, making them more successful rather than obsolete.

In this keynote, we’ll explore how AI is transforming database development and administration—not by taking over, but by working alongside us. From automating routine optimizations to assisting with complex problem-solving, AI is becoming a valuable co-pilot in our daily workflows. Join us for a forward-looking discussion on how embracing AI as a partner can elevate your craft, expand your impact, and redefine what’s possible in the art of software and database engineering.
