With the introduction of the Automatic Workload Repository in Oracle 10g, a new world of performance data was introduced to the Database Administrator and Developer.
With appropriate licensing, ASH and AWR data is ever present as key performance information to assist in diagnosing issues and tracking resource usage of database environments. This session will take the database specialist through an introduction to ASH and AWR concepts, then move on to architecture, reports, including advanced reporting that is only available through the command line.
The session will end with a extensive demonstration of queries showing how to properly query ASH performance data directly.
