ODTUG Hosts first ODTUG - ACE Alliance Community Call Jan 28
We launched our Oracle ACE Alliance last year and talk about the benefits of being involved and I'm excited by our first call planned for later this month but I wanted to drill deeper into how I see it will work.
The ACE Program looks at contributions from individuals to the wider Oracle community those contributions can be anyway an individual showcases how Oracle technology can be used. The program awards points for each contribution logged. There is a different threshold of points for each level of the ACE Program.
When I am mentoring people into the ACE Program identifying the contributions they have made to reach that first threshold I tell them this is the easy bit, once you have been accepted, you must maintain that contribution level to stay and exceed it to move to the next level. ACE Program membership is reviewed annually.
Sometimes the opportunity to carry out contributions can be a major hurdle. If your contributions are blogs, then how much can you write about your topic in your own blog may be limited and you are looking for other platforms. If you like to present it can be very hard to be accepted at major events. It may not be that you can't contribute you just don't have the opportunity.
On the other hand, ODTUG needs volunteers, we need news articles, webinars, things that add value to our five communities, APEX, Database, EPM, Analytics and the new Oracle Cloud Infrstructure. ODTUG is not just KSCOPE.
So the ACE Alliance is a great way to help each other, use your talents to contribute to our communities, and we will find you the opportunities you need to facilitate that. And if you aren’t sure where to start we can help with mentoring or guidance from those ODTUG members who are also part of the ACE Community.
We believe the ODTUG ACE Alliance will help us help you and in return we will get the new volunteers we need.
The ACE Alliance is not stand alone, we are supported by the ACE Program team at Oracle and their lead, Gerald Venzl will be joining us on our first call ……….. and I hope you will join us.
